Malaysia-based fintech company iPay88 recently announced the appointment of Zainol Zainuddin to the Chief Technology Officer position. With around three decades of experience in the fintech and telco industries and working with renowned Malaysian banks, Zainol will apply his industry-acquired transformational leadership skills in this new profile.
Most recently, he was the chief technology officer of Merchantrade Asia Sdn Bhd, wherefrom he will build on his new role. Zainol strategised, developed, transformed, innovated, and led the execution of the company’s technology strategies, and strengthened the in-house technical capabilities at Merchantrade. He also built strategic technology solutions for enhanced customer experience and journey.
Prior to this, he was the head of IT and SVP of banking operations at AmBank Berhad, another leading Malaysian bank, and a VP of IT at Bank Muamalat. With prior experience in engineering, direction, strategy and business development, Zainol has a rich background in leading IT departments.
To attest to his expansive capabilities, he holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hartford. Based in Kuala Lumpur, Zainol will apply his industry experience to further iPay88’s e-commerce and retail payment solutions in Southeast Asia.
