Hello A-J readers!
The second week of December saw an avalanche of business-related news. Two business features showed off a new rideshare company with a Clovis connection, and the other dove in to how a pair of Texas Tech twin alums started their own vodka line. Both stories arrived just in time for the holiday season.
We heard about a new restaurant coming to the former Furr’s on Slide Road, and learned what KPOT planned to bring to the community.
“With KPOT specializing in Korean BBQ and Hot Pot, we hope to bring K-town to your town,” said Cherie Lee, assistant project manager, on behalf of KPOT.

Mr. X, a new dance and night club in the Depot District, opened Wednesday night at 1717 Texas Ave.
Rounding out the week, Auld Brewing Company announced its sudden closure of the downtown brewery, which celebrated its 1-year anniversary in August. While the brews will still be in other taphouses, people will have to drive to Borger for the in-person experience.
“We sacrificed our family, our health and our peace, never producing the winning outcome we had hoped,” the owners stated on social media. “We are grateful for the opportunity we had here in Lubbock and could not have asked for more kindness from our visitors.”

Looking in to next week, I hope to learn about a new painting class business coming to Lubbock on Dec. 15. I’ll also be working on some end-of-year stories.
As always, thank you for reading and supporting the A-J.
