The effects of the on-campus shooting at the University of Virginia that left three active football players dead and two others wounded have been felt throughout not only college football, but the sports world as a whole. The deaths of Devin Chandler, Lavel Davis Jr. and D’Sean Perry have already led to an outpouring of support from all over the country. And with the Cavaliers canceling their Week 12 game against Coastal Carolina, those in action over the weekend are showing that the UVa community remains in their thoughts.

Also on the collective minds of the sports world are Mike Hollins, a fourth member of the football team, and Marlee Morgan, a Virginia student, both of whom survived the shooting. Hollins was initially listed in critical condition after being shot in the back but is recovering following a pair of surgeries; doctors expect to release him from the hospital in the coming days. Morgan was listed in good condition and has already been released from the hospital.

Former Virginia walk-on football player Christopher Darnell Jones Jr., has been identified as the lone gunman and faces a litany of charges, including three counts of second-degree murder and three counts of using a handgun in commission of a felony.

CBS Sports will update this story as tributes pour in from around college football and beyond.
