Medbiz will become…the best solution for (fulfilling) the demand for health products in Indonesia.
Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Pharmaceutical State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Holding led by Bio Farma has created an online business-to-business ( B2B) marketplace called Medicine Distribution Business Zone (Medbiz) to enable the distribution of medicines and health devices.
In a statement released on Friday, president director of Bio Farma, Honesti Basyir, said that the establishment of the e-commerce site is among the digital transformations in the health service ecosystem conducted by the holding, which also comprises Kimia Farma and Indofarma.
“The development of Medbiz is in accordance with the aim of the establishment of Pharmaceutical SOEs Holding, which is to create joint innovations for providing an integrated, fast, and efficient digital pharmaceutical ecosystem in Indonesia,” he remarked.
The digital health transformation effort is also in line with one of the focuses of Indonesia’s 2022 G20 Presidency, which is the development of the global health architecture, the president director said.
“Medbiz will become Bio Farma’s digital milestone and the best solution for (fulfilling) the demand for health products in Indonesia,” he added.
Bio Farma’s director for transformation and digital affairs, Soleh Ayubi, said that the platform has been designed to improve customer experience in purchasing medical products.

The pharmaceutical B2B marketplace, which is connected to several distributor networks across Indonesia, has been created to help customers find quality health products, he informed.
“It makes health products (trade) more integrated, fast, and efficient, as well as is able to realize an end-to-end health service ecosystem,” he said.
Furthermore, the pharmaceutical holding is also collaborating with state-run bank PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk to provide 24-hour online payment services to Medbiz users.
Director of consumer business at BRI, Handayani, said that the bank has continued to encourage digitalization in the pharmaceutical industry, which is expected to support people’s access to health services.
In addition, the collaboration shows BRI’s commitment to providing holistic financial services that are in line with the needs of the Indonesian people.
“This synergy with Bio Farma is BRI’s attempt in providing convenience to the public in using BRI’s financial services. We will continue to explore similar collaborations as one of BRI’s efforts in responding to changing customer behaviors due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” Handayani added.
