Science North is offering holiday workshops every weekend through the month of December.

With the holiday season now upon us, Science North has launched their seasonal campaign, part of which includes gift memberships. This year, Science North is encouraging people to ‘Shake it Up,’ and create new memories and new experiences.

“We believe in the power of gifting experiences,” says Science North’s new CEO Ashley Larose. Over her 17 years with the organization, Larose has served across multiple departments and led outreach programs across Northern Ontario. “A membership means you can come back again and again, creating new memories and new experiences. Essentially, it’s the gift that keeps on giving!”

Science North memberships unlock access to more than year-round access to Science North and Dynamic Earth. Benefits also include first access to March Break and Summer science camp bookings, savings in Whizards Gift Shop, the Big Nickel Boutique and food outlets, free parking, as well as community discounts including Sudbury Wolves tickets, YES Theatre tickets and Kivi Park day passes. Members will also receive a discount to Science North’s New Year’s Eve event on December 31!

“Our whole world got ‘shaken up,’” says Larose. “For the last two years, the holidays have looked very different. Now, we have a chance to move forward from those last two years, shake it up a bit, and think of different ways to give. We haven’t been able to have experiences together as much as we wanted in recent years. We think there’s never been a better time to gift your family this year than with an experience.”

Holiday workshops worth the visit

Science North is offering holiday workshops every weekend through the month of December. Workshops include polishing rocks and minerals and making rings and jewellery for someone on your list. Visitors can also create ornaments, including some that look like human organs.

Looking to get some fresh air over the holidays? Enjoy the Festival of Lights on the Science North grounds every night from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Admission is by donation and proceeds are donated to underprivileged children in Sudbury through The Sudbury Charities Foundation.

“Our team at Science North are excited to see families enjoy all there is to offer during the holiday season and throughout 2023. What better place to reconnect with your family or friends than here at Science North?”, added Larose.

Interested in gifting a loved one, neighbour, or friend the gift of memories? Check out the various memberships available, including individual and family, on the Science North website.
