Qatari state-owned pay-TV network BeIN Sports will broadcast 22 matches on its free-to-air (FTA) channel across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region during the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
While details of which games will be made available to non-subscribers have not been confirmed in full, BeIN kicked off its free coverage of the tournament’s opener between hosts Qatar and Ecuador on 20th November.
The majority of the 64 Qatar 2022 matches will air on the BeIN Sports Max pay-TV channels in the 24 countries that make up the MENA region.
“This is a celebration of a World Cup in and for the Arab world. We are thrilled to be able to offer key matches free-to-air to the region’s passionate football fans,” said Mohammed Al-Subaie, BeIN Sports’ MENA chief executive.
“When we first became official broadcaster of the Fifa World Cup Qatar 2022, our mission was to pursue every opportunity to open up access to the tournament to the multitude of fans in this region.
“We remain committed to making our content widely available and we know how significant and unifying this tournament is for us all.”
