Employees from a host of local organizations and businesses — including the MPD, MFD, Radio Z 95.5, MEMBERS1ST Credit Union, Wilson Toyota and Hy-Vee — teamed up to give away 300 turkeys in the parking lot of the Marshalltown Police/Fire Station on Wednesday afternoon on a first come, first serve basis. The line of cars stretched west all the way to the Sixth Street intersection, and the recipients left with smiles on their faces and a big bird to cook for the big holiday on Thursday.
