Dale Eugene Swift
Dale Eugene Swift, 76, of Sanford, N.C., passed away on Wednesday Nov. 2, 2022 at his residence. He was born on Aug. 10, 1946 in Erie, Pa. the son of the late Robert Neal and Dorothy (Shaner) Swift. Dale graduated Harborcreek High School in 1964, and earned a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics from Westminster College and a Masters of Mathematics from the University of Illinois. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Army as a Military Policeman. Dale was formerly employed by General Electric in Syracuse, N.Y. in the Mathematics Division. Throughout life, Dale was a master level bridge player and enjoyed golfing and watching many sports on TV and online. He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Brian Suckow (Jan. 24, 2005). Dale is survived by his sister, Barbara Suckow (former husband Jim) of Jamestown; brother, Everett Swift (Nancy) of Fredericksburg, Va.; nephews, Kyle Suckow of Fredonia and Neal Swift of Crimora, Va.; a niece, Rebecca Swift of Winston Salem, N.C.; and a grandniece, Emily Swift. Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Saturday Nov. 19 from 10 a.m. until time of a funeral service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Full Military Honors.
